Golden Milk and Kid Teas for Cough & Cold Season

When our kids get sick, whether they have a fever, more sweat, diarrhea, or vomiting, they are losing fluid, so it’s important we focus on hydration! Small, frequent sips can do the trick! When our kids are ready to drink, we love giving golden milk and tea with honey (for kids over 1 year old).

Golden milk is made with honey and turmeric. Why? Honey is a natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory, and it’s clinically proven to alleviate coughs and colds by coating the throat and reducing inflammation. Turmeric is also naturally anti-inflammatory, so this recipe packs a one-two punch.

Not into turmeric? Here are some caffeine-free teas that you can add 1 tsp of honey to:

Other caffeine-free teas like chamomile, fennel, ginger, and mint have also worked well for us!

Remember, honey isn’t safe for kids under 1, so these recipes are for 1+. And as always, consult your doctor before you diagnose or treat any illness.

Happy drinking!
