Episode #10
Hayley and Jess are joined by Chriselle Lim, co-founder of Bumo Parent, Bumo Brain, and Bumo Work and host of the Being Bumo podcast, a collection of community, education, and childcare resources for families. A mother to two girls, a stylist, and the OG digital influencer, Chriselle discusses how to balance work, family, relationships, and friends and how to take a step back when you’re not sure if you’re parenting in the way you intend. Chriselle also shares her experiences growing up as an Asian American and explores how we, as parents, can start to have conversations with our kids about race and culture so that we positively shape the next generation.
If you’re looking for ways to bring awareness to the Asian American experience, check out Stop AAPI Hate and the hashtag #stopaapihate. Stop AAPI Hate was created in response to the alarming escalation in hate against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the US as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also, check out Chriselle’s book recommendation, Eyes That Kiss in the Corners. This children’s book is about a young Asian girl who finds uniqueness in her beauty, and it is a wonderful story about self-love and empowerment.
